Introduction
What does NiPGT screen for?
Non-invasive Preimplantation Genetic Testing (NiPGT) is a genetic test performed on the cell-free embryonic DNA obtained from the embryo
culture medium to determine if the embryo is carrying a normal number of chromosomes.
Features of NiPT
Non-invasive procedure
Reduces risk of trophectoderm biopsy
Eliminates need of specialized skills and equipments: potentially more cost-effective
High concordance rates with TE biopsies and ICM (84-85% at D6 of development)
Robust results with different culture conditions and incubator systems
Highly representative since fDNA is likely released from both TE and ICM cells
Indications for NiPGT
Undergoing ART cycle (ICSI derived embryos)
Advance Meternal agd
History of aneuploidy in previous pregnancies
Recurrent miscarriages
Recurrent implantation failure
FAQS
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of a comprehensive subfertility workup?
The comprehensive workup is designed to identify the root causes of fertility issues in both partners. By conducting a range of tests and assessments, we can provide a precise diagnosis and develop a personalized treatment plan to increase your chances of conception.
How long does the entire workup process take?
The workup process typically takes a few weeks, depending on the tests required. We ensure each step is explained thoroughly, and we work to keep the timeline as smooth and efficient as possible.
Will both partners need to undergo testing?
Yes, a subfertility workup typically involves assessing both partners. Male fertility factors can contribute to about 30-40% of fertility issues, so it’s important to evaluate both individuals to get a complete picture of the challenges you may be facing.
Are the diagnostic procedures, like HSG and SSG, painful?
HSG and SSG are minimally invasive procedures and may cause mild discomfort or cramping, but they are generally well-tolerated. But if your pain threshold is really low then you can undergo SSG under Intra-Venous sedation. Our experienced team will ensure that you are comfortable and fully informed about what to expect during and after the procedures.
What happens after the workup is completed?
Once the workup is complete, we will sit down with you to discuss the results and outline your personalized treatment plan. Based on the diagnosis, we may recommend lifestyle changes, medications, or assisted reproductive treatments like IUI or IVF to help you achieve a successful pregnancy.
